Recently a group of Out Doors participants enjoyed a few days around Mt Beauty experiencing the stunning change of seasons as winter breaks into spring. We began each day with immersive walks in local terrain including Mt Beauty pondage, Keiwa River trails, Mountain Creek walking tracks and Lake Guy. As is often the case, we were lucky with the weather. There had been a lot of rain earlier so the ground was sodden in parts, reflecting the bright sky amongst the green growth. Rivers and streams were in full flow, bursting with energy, tumbling over rocks and fallen trees. The air infused with moisture, sunshine, bird song, the scent of mulchy earth and blooming wattles. Each afternoon we gathered in the inspiring spaces of our accommodation in Tawonga, sharing the highlights of our experience and condensing them into various creative representations. We had given ourselves an ambitious origami project of making columbus cubes. We used the artwork we had been creating over a few days to make each cube, transforming them into intriguing shapes of experience. The project grew over the course of the week eventually evolving into a mobile that included strands of painted leaves and one truly magnificent origami black cockatoo. What was great about this project is that the many small things built up to become something special and that it really wouldn’t have come together at all if people hadn’t helped each other out. We all have different talents, and they were all needed in this collective effort. You can soon see it hanging up in our meeting rooms at Kensington.#mountbeauty#mtbeauty#art#bushart#getoutdoors#outdoorsinc#mentalhealth#mentalhealthsupport #mentalhealthmatters #MentalHealthService... A group of seniors from the Indo-Chinese North Melbourne Association spent the week exploring the Springs Country. Based at the Continental House in Hepburn Springs the group spent their days enjoying the outdoors. Some highlights of the trip included visiting the Botanical Gardens in Ballarat, trekking around the Mt Franklin dormant volcano, sampling the different spring water, and pampering themselves with a visit to the Hepburn Mineral Bathes. Once the weather rolled in late on in the week the group had the opportunity to drop in to the Convent located in Daylesford, where Tina made us all feel super welcomed. #seniors#outdoorsinc#getoutdoors#hepburnsprings#daylesford#outdoorsinc#getoutdoors...
