Mental Health First Aid Courses

Out Doors Inc.’s Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) courses provide high quality, evidence-based education, increasing the amount and type of support you can provide a work colleague, family member or friend.

One in five adults is affected by a mental health issue each year.

COURSE CONTENT
The course teaches members of the public how to assist someone who is developing a mental health problem or in a mental health crisis. Participants will learn the signs and symptoms of these mental health problems, where and how to get help and what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective.

COURSE FORMAT
Standard MHFA 
A face-to-face 12-hour course (4 modules, each 3 hours) with a flexible delivery format.

Participants in both courses receive a copy of the Standard MHFA Manual to keep and a Certificate of Completion. Additionally (at no extra cost), participants will have the opportunity to complete an online accreditation exam in order to become an Accredited MHFAider for 3 years.

Our facilitators are accredited MHFA instructors and also have a background in mental health, occupational health and safety, risk and injury management.
