If you watch one video this week, let it be Simon’s.
Simon is someone who knows the darkest corners of mental illness. Just two years ago, he was in and out of hospital, overwhelmed by anxiety, depression and isolation. Trapped in a cage of mental illnesses, where every day felt like survival. Choices seemed limited.
But what makes Simon’s story remarkable is the powerful decision he made to try something different. When he was nearly down and out, he took a chance. He signed up for a program with Out Doors Inc.
That single day, on unfamiliar tracks, with a group of strangers sparked something. It didn’t fix everything overnight, but it started a new chapter.
One day program led to another. Then came white-water rafting, gentle yoga, forest hikes, rock climbing, beach walks, campfire chats, laughter, and deep conversations with people on their own mental health journeys.
Out Doors is honoured to have been part of Simon’s journey. And we’re grateful he chose to share it with all of us, so others might take that same brave step outside.

Let his words, his courage, and his laughter remind you that no matter where you are in your journey, you are never alone and change is always possible.
