Out Doors Inc. (Out Doors) is a statewide, not-for-profit mental health organisation that offers a range of recreational and active outdoor programs that cater to all ages (16+), fitness & experience levels, from beginners to advanced for better mental health.

We had an awesome time down on the Southwest coast of Victoria! The weather was perfect for a few of our group to camp in tents for the first time! We spent a fantastic day at Princetown, with some of us paddling along the Gellibrand River in canoes towards the majestic cliffs. Others walked, which was just as enjoyable. We explored the rainforest of the Otway's, walked to Triplet Falls, and enjoyed a yummy lunch at Melba Gully. We spent another morning wandering the trails at Tower Hill, followed by an afternoon in the quaint Port Fairy township. Some relaxed by the beach, while others wandered through the historic streets. We all loved the natural beauty of the area and the fun social times playing board games!![]()

Maribyrnong is the anglicised version of the Aboriginal term ‘Mirring-gnay-bir-nong’, which translates as 'I can hear a ringtail possum'. The Inner West suburbs of Melbourne has undergone significant changes in the last century, and with this in mind a group of participants embarked on a day walk along the banks of the Maribyrnong River to discover hidden histories of the area. We started out the day with morning tea on the newly refurbished Footscray Wharf and Promenade and learned about the relationship between Yarra River and Maribyrnong River. After a quick tour of the Footscray Community Arts Centre, the group started walking north along the river path, taking detours to explore Newell’s Paddock and Footscray Park. ODI staff member, Pei Ting, was the amateur historian for the day, pointing out landmarks and areas that hold significant histories to the area. After a delicious lunch spread, the group ended the day with a quick walk through Pipemakers Park. Despite the hot weather, the group had an enjoyable day out, and many were surprised by what they learned and discovered in a part of Melbourne that is unknown to them.![]()
