Our mission is to encourage people to get “out the door” of home or hospital and actively participate in their community. We provide a range of outdoor group experiences that are designed to foster social connection, nurture skill development and promote mental wellbeing.

Position Overview

As the Business Development Officer, you will spearhead the expansion of our NDIS services across Melbourne’s Western Suburbs and Whittlesea. Your primary goal will be to forge strategic partnerships, drive participant engagement, and ultimately ensure that individuals in these communities have greater access to our life-changing programs.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic professional with a proven track record in business development, community engagement, or face-to-face sales—preferably within the NDIS or related sectors. This role calls for a warm, approachable communicator who excels at building genuine connections, identifying new growth opportunities, and driving measurable results to expand ODI’s presence in community mental health.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct On-Site Visits: Promote our services at hospitals, community centres, and other venues, forging meaningful connections.
  • Monitor and Report: Provide regular updates on lead generation, market trends, and client feedback to inform strategic decisions.
  • Demonstrate Reliability: Maintain strong organisational and time-management skills, ensuring deadlines are met with keen attention to detail.
  • Contribute to the Team: Actively participate in team meetings, contributing innovative ideas to enhance organisational effectiveness and growth.

Ideal Candidate

  • Business Development Experience: At least 3 years’ experience in business development or community engagement, with a strong record of expanding client bases and meeting revenue goals.
  • NDIS Expertise: Established connections with Support Coordinators, Plan Managers, and Participants, enabling immediate growth opportunities.
  • Business Acumen: Skilled at identifying and acting on new business prospects to drive sustainable expansion.
  • Communication Excellence: Confident in both verbal and written communication, with solid analytical and report-writing capabilities.
  • CRM Experience: Proficient with CRM software (Salesforce) and data-driven decision-making.
  • Flexibility & Mobility: Willing to travel as needed; a current Driver’s License is essential.

Key Details:

  • Competitive Salary: $70,000 – $85,000 pro rata (depending on experience), plus super and an attractive salary package.
  • Flexible Work Arrangements: 30.4 hours per week, with flexibility to suit your lifestyle.
  • Generous Leave: 5 weeks of annual leave.
  • Contract Tenure: Initially until December 2025, with the possibility of extension based on performance and KPIs.
